Here is what we tell our customers when they are curious about the service life of our products:

Good quality window film (like Panorama or Armorcoat), when properly installed on the interior side of the glass and when well cared for, can last for 30 years or more. And, in most cases it’s warranted for life. However, this all depends on how you treat it.

How to clean tinted windows and perform maintenance

The biggest mistake people make when caring for their tinted windows is using a typical window cleaner with ammonia, acids, or alcohol. This will break down the film’s adhesive and drastically shorten its lifespan. To help our customers reach this service life potential, we always offer our experienced advice for proper care as well as some detailed written instructions for you to keep.

It’s also critical that you wait to wash your windows until the film has a chance to dry completely after installation, which can take a few months. When you do clean them, use a mild detergent and a rubber squeegee rather than paper towels that can scratch the film, and rinse with clean water when you’re finished.

You wouldn’t buy a new washing machine without making sure it’s going to hold up for several years to come, and the same goes for all of your other home and office improvements. Knowing the life expectancy of your investments helps you make more informed decisions and gives you peace of mind about your purchases.
